Employer Health Care Benefits

Employers often make significant changes to health care benefits provided to their employees. These changes may violate the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), state insurance and health care-related laws, and consumer protection laws.

We help employees to understand these changes and their options, and represent them in challenging illegal reductions to their health care benefits.

We also advocate on behalf of retired employees, as more employers seek to reduce or terminate retirees' health care benefits, including moving them to Medicare Advantage plans, subjecting them to “prior authorization” requirements, and otherwise reducing the quality of their coverage. These changes are particularly harmful to seniors who are on fixed incomes and who face increased and uncertain medical issues and costs. Our firm proudly advocates for seniors, who are far too often treated as expendable, to help them maintain the health care that they need and deserve.

We represent employees and retirees in litigation, as well as in negotiations with employers and insurance companies relating to their health care benefits.
